Blood Chemistry Labs

At Chelsea Turner Wellness, we utilize blood chemistry panels to recognize patterns using functional ranges, in order to identify potential deficiencies and imbalances.

What’s the difference between functional vs. conventional blood labs?

Conventional blood chemistry labs use a predetermined pathological range to identify and diagnose medical conditions.

If you’ve ever visited your doctor’s office feeling anything but normal, only to hear “everything looks normal” while reviewing your labs…you know why this type of approach is not helpful

That’s because conventional labs are reviewed using a pathological range to diagnose disease once it’s already present. Chances are although you may be feeling awful, you likely fall outside of this category, hence why “everything looks normal.”

That’s where functional blood chemistry comes into play!

When blood chemistry is reviewed through a much narrower functional lens, we are able to identify potential clues and patterns that provide deeper insight into the root cause of your symptoms and WHY they are happening in the first place.

Blood Chemistry Lab Full Panel

Includes the following markers:

    • CRP

    • CBC with differential (complete blood count panel)

    • CMP (comprehensive metabolic panel)

    • GGT

    • Hemoglobin A1c

    • Iron panel with ferritin

    • Lipid panel

    • Magnesium

    • Phosphorus

    • Uric acid

    • Vitamin D

    • Specialty markers (gut health and inflammation): Gastrin, homocysteine, ESR

    • Full thyroid panel with antibodies (FTI, TSH, T3, Free T3, Reverse T3, T3 Uptake, T4, Free T4)

Additional Markers & Ordering Through Your PCP

Don’t see a marker you would like ordered? Just ask and we will let you know if we can add it on for an additional cost.

If you prefer to order blood chemistry labs through your insurance/primary care provider, we will provide you with a list of markers we would ideally like to see on a panel to give me the most information. *Note: Ordering these labs through your primary care provider can sometimes end up being more costly than ordering through our team, so do your own research with your insurance company!

*Note: We are unable to order blood chemistry labs if you are located in NY, NJ or RI, or outside of the US.

Bioresonance Scans

Bioenergetic testing is a non-invasive energetic analysis (using hair and saliva samples) that has the ability to detect stress and measure the body’s energetic reaction to various substances.

Bioresonance scans provide a wide range of insights, including:

  • A complete body chart depicting 14 systems and indicating the specific level of stress

  • Top 3 most stressed organs

  • Hormones out of balance

  • Nutritional imbalances

  • Food and environmental (chemicals, fragrances, EMFs) sensitivities

  • Resonating toxins and pathogens (mold, bacteria, parasites, chemicals, metals and viruses)

  • Insight into balancing remedies (homeopathic and herbal/nutritional supplements)

Bioresonance Scan Logistics

  • We will order your scan through CBH Energetics

  • You will receive a collection kit and instructions in the mail

  • Return your hair and saliva samples to CBH Energetics using the prepaid mailing envelope

  • You will receive an email from CBH Energetics confirming your results have been received

  • Results are typically ready about 3 weeks from the time your sample was received (although results may be ready earlier)

  • You will receive a comprehensive report of the scan’s findings that we will review together

The bioresonance scan testing option is for you if…

  • You would like a comprehensive body scan to help you better understand the potential root cause of your symptoms

  • You want to take the guesswork out of unknown stressors that may be causing imbalances in your body

  • You are sensitive to supplements and want to know which remedies will best help restore balance within your body

  • You have had multiple types of testing completed and are still looking for deeper insight into your symptoms

Hair Tissue Mineral Analysis (HTMA)

Hair Tissue Mineral Analysis (HTMA) testing looks at your body's mineral and heavy metal levels over the last 3 months. It tells us nutrient levels inside of cells, including which nutrients are being used up by the body in response to stress or other physiological processes.

HTMA is especially helpful if you are:

  • Struggling with hormone imbalances, nervous system dysregulation (anxiety/depression, mood shifts), adrenal stress, blood sugar imbalances, and/or histamine intolerance

  • Have suspected or diagnosed Hypothyroidism, Hyperthyroidism, PCOS, Endometriosis, or histamine intolerance/MCAS

  • Are trying to conceive and/or are interested in preconception support

  • Are postpartum

  • Are transitioning or planning to transition off of hormonal birth control or the copper IUD

HTMA Test Logistics

  • We will send you instructions for how to complete your HTMA test with supplies you have at home

  • Results are typically ready about 2 weeks from the time your sample was received (although results may be ready earlier)

  • You will receive a detailed copy of your results and we will review them together

Functional Testing FAQ

Of course you can order both options if you would like! This is the best way to get as much information as possible to help in identifying the potential root cause of your symptoms.

Unfortunately, I cannot order labs for you if you are in one of these locations. If located in NY, NJ or RI, I will provide you with a list of markers I would ideally like to see so that you can ask your primary care provider to order them for you. Once you have the results, you can upload them to my client portal for my review.

I suggest having blood chemistry labs completed every 6 months to 1 year.

This is a personal choice! You can either use your scan findings as a one-time way to gain deeper insight into your health OR you can complete a new scan every 4-6 weeks to see what comes up next.

Rescanning is helpful for identifying potential imbalances and balancing remedies as you move through layers of detox. Maintenance can also be completed every 6 months to 1 year.
