Chocolate Covered Strawberry Smoothie Bowl

  • Total Time: 5 minutes

Description

This chocolate covered strawberry smoothie bowl is like having dessert for breakfast…except healthier! Rich cacao powder and hormone balancing macronutrients combine to create a decadent treat!

Ingredients

Scale
  • ½ cup cauliflower, steamed then frozen
  • ¼ avocado
  • 1 serving chocolate protein powder
  • 1 cup almond milk
  • 1 Tablespoon almond butter
  • 1 Tablespoon hemp seeds
  • 1 handful spinach
  • ⅓ cup strawberries
  • 2 Tablespoons cacao powder
  • 1 tsp maca powder

Instructions

Add all your ingredients to your blender of choice (high-speed or single-serve) and blend it up! Top with desired toppings.

Topping Ideas: Sliced strawberries and banana, walnuts, cacao nibs and coconut flakes

Notes

  • Steaming the cauliflower makes it easier to digest and allowing it to freeze adds the perfect thick texture to smoothie bowls! I like to pre-steam my cauliflower florets and store them in the freezer so they’re ready whenever I want to add to a smoothie.
  • I like using my homemade almond milk in smoothies, or you can use store-bought. You ideally want to find a clean brand without added sugar or gums!
  • Raw maca powder will provide the most benefits, but if you have a sensitive stomach, the gelatinized version is easier to digest.
  • I used my new favorite chocolate plant-based protein powder by Truvani, but you can substitute with any protein powder here! Truvani also makes a vanilla version.
  • Topping Ideas: Sliced strawberries and banana, walnuts, cacao nibs and coconut flakes
